This topic outlines how to save a specification and how to save a copy of a specification.

To save a specification

  1. Do one of the following:

    • From the File menu, select Save.
    • Click Ctrl+S.
    • Click SaveIcon.JPG
  2. If the specification was created in standalone File-AID/EX, a warning message appears indicating that the specification, if saved, will not be compatible with standalone File-AID/EX. Do one of the following:
    • To replace the standalone File-AID/EX specification for use in Workbench for Eclipse, click OK.
    • To keep the standalone File-AID/EX specification and save a copy of the specification for use in Workbench for Eclipse, click Cancel and then save a copy of the specification.

To save a copy of a specification

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In Data Explorer, right-click the specification and select Save As. The Save Specification dialog box appears.
    • When viewing a list of specifications, right-click the specification and select Save As. The Save Specification dialog box appears.
    • When working with an execution suite, right-click the specification and select Save As. The Save Specification dialog box appears.

      Important

If unsupported features exist in the specification, a warning message appears. Click OK to save the specification for use in

      Workbench for Eclipse

, which will drop the unsupported features, or click Cancel to end without saving a copy of the specification.

  2. In the Name field, type a name for the specification. Alternatively, an existing name can be selected from the table which, when saved, will overwrite the original specification.
  3. From the Repository list, select the repository into which to save the specification.

    Important

The table gives information about all specifications in the repository selected in the Repository list and can be filtered by typing text into the type filter text field.

  4. Click Save and, when not overwriting an existing specification, refresh the parent node in Data Explorer. The specification appears in Data Explorer.

Important

During this copy process, any specifications that are related to the specification being saved are also saved. If any related specifications already exist in the selected repository, the Save Specification dialog box appears to allow the user to select which should be overwritten. If this dialog box appears, select the check boxes for the specifications to be overwritten and click OK. Specifications not chosen for overwriting will not be saved.
