Opening a Specification
Data Explorer is used to open specifications. Refer to the appropriate section below, depending on whether the specification was created in Workbench for Eclipse or is a specification created in standalone Workbench for Eclipse.
To open a specification created in Workbench for Eclipse
Do one of the following:
- In Data Explorer, toggle open the desired application node (such as Related Extract). Double-click or right-click the desired specification and select Open. The specification opens in Workbench for Eclipse.
- When viewing a list of specifications, right-click the specification and select Open.
- When working with an execution suite, right-click the specification set and select Open.
To open a ConverterPro or ComparePro specification created in standalone Workbench for Eclipse
- In Data Explorer, toggle open the desired application node.
- Double-click or right-click the desired specification and select Open. The specification opens in standalone Workbench for Eclipse.
To open a Related Extract, Related Loader, Selection Criteria, Execution Suites, or Application Relationship Editor specification created in standalone Workbench for Eclipse
- In Data Explorer, toggle open the desired application node.
- Double-click or right-click the desired specification and select Open. One of the following occurs:
- For Selection Criteria and Application Relationship specifications, the specification is transformed to the newer format that Workbench for Eclipse can use, and is opened in an editor. The transformed specification is not saved to the repository yet. If desired, use the save as functionality to save a copy of the specification or make a change to the transformed specification and then save it.
- For Related Extract and Related Loader specifications that contain only supported features, the specification is transformed to the newer format that Workbench for Eclipse can use, and is opened in an editor. At this point, the specification is not saved to the repository. If desired, save the specification.
- For Related Extract and Related Loader specifications that contain features that are not yet supported in Workbench for Eclipse (such as embedded rules), a warning message appears, click OK. The specification is transformed to the newer format that Workbench for Eclipse can use, the unsupported features are dropped, and the specification is opened in an editor. (Note: Once a specification is transformed and saved, it cannot be opened in standalone Workbench for Eclipse.) At this point, the specification is not saved to the repository. If desired, save the specification.
For ConverterPro and ComparePro sets, once opened, the set is transformed into Execution Suite specification. At this point, the specification is not saved to the repository. If desired, save the specification.
