Import a Global Rule

After a global rule has been created, it can be imported into your local project. Global rules can be used in multiple projects. However, they can only be updated in the global project. You cannot make changes (for example, add rule actions) to a global rule from within your local project.

To import a data privacy rule:

1. Open the desired repository and project.
2. Click the Rules tab. The Rules view appears listing all of the rules currently available for this project in the Rules List portion of the window.
3. Click Global. The Import Global Rule dialog box appears.

4. Select the rule and click Import. The rule will now appear in your project. Any data elements and variables used in the global rule will automatically be imported if they do not already exist in the project.

   Important

   If you later delete the global rule from your local project, it will still remain as a global rule to be available for use by other projects.
