Create a PDS member in a mainframe project

To create a PDS member in a BMC mainframe project

1. Do either of the following:

   • In the Project Explorer view, right-click the desired PDS and select New>PDS Member File in a BMC Mainframe Project.
   • From the File menu, select New>PDS Member File in a BMC Mainframe Project.

   The New PDS Member File dialog box appears.

2. Select the PDS folder in which to create the new PDS member.

3. In the Member name field, enter the name of the new member and click Finish. The new member opens in an editor and is added to the project in the Project Explorer view.

   Important

   The new member is immediately created on the mainframe upon clicking Finish.

4. Edit and save the new member as needed. The PDS is refreshed within Project Explorer and the member remains in use until the editor is closed. If the editor is closed without entering anything, the empty member will remain in the PDS until deleted or otherwise used.
