XREF Processing


When you specify record layout usage of Record layout cross reference (XREF), the initial data display is the Formatted Row Mode. With XREF, the Formatted Row Mode uses the entire data display area to present the current (or first) record in the file according the record layout automatically selected by the XREF logic to match the record data of the current record. The Row mode icon is disabled and there is no Formatted Table Mode available. Use the image2021-8-18_12-41-2.png Previous and Next image2021-8-18_12-41-26.pngicons at the top right corner of the Row Mode display to move from record to record in the file. As you move to each new record, the record data is examined and compared to the logic in your XREF, and the correct layout is automatically selected and displayed in the Formatted Row Mode matrix.
In Row Mode, the fields of the layout are the rows of the display, and the columns are metadata attributes of the layout plus the value of each field. When editing, click on the value cell of a field to change its value. Values are formatted based on the field attributes and are checked for validity when you enter data. 

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
