Source Data Identifier - Custom Processing Options

Custom processing options are used when your processing type does not fall into one of the TEXT, NUMERIC, or DATE categories. This option specifies how outbound values are aligned and filled when the source field is a fixed-length character field. In this case, you can create a Java routine that you will call as a Data Privacy custom function.

For information on how to create a Java routine using Eclipse, see Create-a-New-Java-Routine.

After your Java routine is created, you can call the custom function by clicking the Edit button next to the Inbound expression field or the Outbound expression field.

Value Alignment options include:

  • Use the options specified in the Data Element (default)
  • Left justify and blank fill
  • Right justify and blank fill

Normalization options include:

  • Use the text normalization options specified in the Data Element (default)
  • Use normalization expression for this data identifier. If you select this option, click Edit next to the Inbound expression field or the Outbound expression field. The Expression Builder will appear allowing you to create the desired expression. For more information about the Expression Builder, see Expression-Builder and Create-a-New-Expression-with-the-Expression-Builder.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
