Metadata Viewer
The Metadata viewer is placed on the left side of the File-AID Data Editor. It is in a collapsed state by default when you open the editor window. To expand/collapse the Metadata viewer you can click on the left/right
arrows on the bar separating the forms. Also, to adjust the Metadata viewer size, click and drag the bar horizontally.
View Metadata
In the Metadata viewer from the Host Explorer perspective, right-click on a member of data set layouts and click View Metadata which displays the standalone view.
Hide Column(s)
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Hide Column(s), to hide the columns on the right side of the table and row mode.
Show Column(s)
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Show Column(s), to view the hidden columns in the table and row mode.
Show All Columns
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Show All Columns, to view all the hidden columns in the table and row mode.
Hide All Filler Columns
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Hide All Filler Columns, to hide all the filler columns on the right side of the table and row mode.
Show All Filler Columns
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Show All Filler Columns, to view all the hidden filler columns in the table and row mode.
Hide All Redefines Columns
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Hide All Redefines Columns, to hide all the redefines columns on the right side of the table and row mode.
Show All Redefines Columns
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Show All Redefines Columns, to view all the redefines filler columns in the table and row mode.
Freeze Columns
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Freeze Columns, to freeze the columns on the right side of the table and row mode.
Unfreeze All Columns
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Unfreeze All Columns, to unfreeze all the columns in the table and row mode.
Locate Column
In the Metadata viewer right-click on any field and select Locate Column, to locate a specific column on the right side of the table and row mode.
Configure Columns
In the Metadata viewer click Configure columns 
, to select and order columns. You can view the following columns by default in the Metadata viewer except for Redefines (Fully Qualified) column:
- Name
- Picture
- Occurs
- Redefines
- No.
- Type
- Start
- End
- Size
Expand All
In the Metadata viewer click 
, to expand all the nodes.
Collapse All
In the Metadata viewer click 
, to collapse all the nodes.
