Overloaded Rule Actions
Overloaded rule actions disguise data based on a condition specified while defining the rule action.
To add an overloaded rule action:
- Open the desired repository and project.
- Click the Rules tab, and select the desired rule. The list of rule actions appears in the Rule Action tab portion of the window.
- To add a new rule action, click Add. The Create Rule Action wizard appears.
- Select Overloaded and click Next.
- Type a name for your rule action. You can have more than one rule action per rule, but each rule action name must be unique within the rule.
- Choose the Project resource from the drop down list. This selected resource will be the resource (data element or variable) to be acted upon by the rule.
- Type the Field mask, which is optional.
- Click Next. The Create Overloaded Rule Action page appears.
- You have the option to change the Action name.
- Select a data element and click the Build button. Use the Expression Builder to specify a condition to be used in identifying the data element present in the overloaded field. See Create-a-New-Expression-with-the-Expression-Builder for more details.
- Continue creating a condition for each identified data element to be used in a rule. If you do not plan to use a data element, no condition is required.
- Use the Up and Down buttons to list the conditions in the order in which they are to be used at execution time. If the conditions are mutually exclusive, the order does not matter.
- Select a data element, and use the Clear button to remove the condition specified for the data element.
Click Finish. The overloaded rule action appears in the Rule Action List, and the name of the overloaded data element and the conditions you specified for each potential data element in the overloaded field are shown as the children of the rule.
