Manage Metadata
When a project is created, a Coverage tab is available for project metadata. However, there is no requirement to define metadata to the project. If metadata is defined to the project, however, coverage can be displayed for any single metadata, and coverage reports can be requested against the list of project metadata.
You can add COBOL or PL/I layout metadata from the mainframe and Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, and DB2 tables and schemas to your data privacy project. This is accomplished through the Metadata Selection dialog box.
You can access the Metadata Selection dialog box by selecting the metadata tab of an open project and clicking Add.
There are several tasks you can perform within the Coverage tab. You can:
- View the metadata that is already part of the project by clicking the Coverage tab of an open project.
- Add project metadata. For more information, see Add-Project-Metadata.
- Delete project metadata. For more information, see Remove-Project-Metadata.
View Coverage. What appears here is metadata detail.
For more information, see- Run Coverage Analysis.
Any single field within metadata can only be identified as being one data element or part of a multi-field data element. The most specific identifier is used for the identification. Because you may want to have data privacy coverage for different data sources, it is common to include metadata from different sources in a single project.
