Execute the Test Scenario

Complete the following steps to execute the test scenario

  1. Click image2022-11-7_13-31-54.png Execute in the top right corner in the editor.
    • In the Execution Context dialog box:
    • Select an environment: When you select an environment, the dialog box will look up all components used in the Total Test Scenario in the repository to find their corresponding runtime parameters, i.e. their load libraries, which runtime to execute at and optional Db2 settings. You will be warned if a component does not exist for the selected platform or if some parameters are missing.
  2. Supply your user id and password If you would like these saved for future executions, check the box to 'Securely save userid/password for the selected environment'.

    Important

The Total Test Scenario only specifies data for a program, not where to call it. You decide on that by selecting a platform in the dialog box that appears. The list of platforms is customer specific and is something the Non-virtualized Test administrator has set up on the

    Total Test

     Repository Server.

  3. Click OK to start the execution.
When the execution starts, a dialog box with a progress bar will display, and the console view will continuously be updated with log data. An Execution Result dialog box will be opened as soon as the execution is finished. It will show green if it went well – which it should. Otherwise it will show red and show a description of what went wrong. The result dialog box also shows details such as what data each module invocation returned. Scroll to the bottom on the parameters list for the XAPGMTST output and find the xacurrenttime field and see that it actually has a value.
