Task 1 Install ECC and Functional Test z/OS Agent

Follow the instructions in the ECC documentation to install and configure ECC. If ECC is already installed, apply the latest maintenance including the required PTFs for enabling Functional Test.

After installing or updating ECC, configure the Functional Test PARMLIBs, and JCL skeletons for z/OS Agent. For more information, see Configuration Guide.

Also, make sure that you complete the following tasks:

  1.  Install or update BMC AMI Enterprise Common Components (ECC ) version 17.02 with the latest maintenance applied, including the required PTFs to enable Functional Test.
  2.  Configure and deploy ECC, including importing your Total Test license keys into the BMC AMI License Management System (LMS).
  3.  Run the following Functional Test (Xatz) configurations:
    • Customize XAUPDCSD in SLCXCNTL for updating CICS CSD
    • Copy the sample member XATZSYSD from the sample library SLCXCNTL to the CMSC PARMLIB library for BMC products.
    • Modify the member XATZSYSD to create your site-specific values. Perform this action during the initial installation and any time later when you want to modify any of the symbolic parameters. XATZSYSD member can be changed at any time once used in the XATZ00 configuration and no CMSC refresh is required.

  4. Change variables (Ø..Ø) in all Xatz members in ØhlqØ.SLCXSENU and ØhlqØ.SLCXCNTL, to your installation standard.

    Success

    Tip

     The Ø character is displayed as the @ symbol or another national language character in a 3270 display, depending on your code page.

  5. APF-authorized ØhlqØ.SLCXAUTH.
  6. Modify ØhlqØ.SLCXCNTL(XATZ00) for Functional Test startup parameters.
  7. Modify the JCL Skeletons in ØhlqØ.SLCXSENU with your custom changes done for version 1.4.1 or 2.0.0. If you had any customizations in version 1.4.1 or 2.0.0 SXATPROC, apply them to version 17.02 SLCXCNTL.

  8. Update or Start the CMSC by using the definition in XATZ00.

    Warning

    Important

    If the port number for version 17.02 is the same as the port number for version 1.4.1 or V2.0.0, you must stop the version 1.4.1 or 2.0.0 started task.

  9. If you plan to use Functional Test under CICS, activate EXCI, library support, and program auto-install. 

    Warning

    Important

    To apply PTFs, a NEWCOPY of program(XA*) in the CICS region is required.
