Functional Test Quick Installation Summary

This topic summarizes how to install Total Test components including the Functional Test feature.

Tip

You must configure the Total Test Repository server and z/OS Agent before you can use the following Functional Test features related to testing in a real CICS environment and test subprograms with a linking section in batch:

  • Palette elements Functional Test
  • Verify Data sets
  • Read Records 
  • Write Records

All other functional batch testing in the BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse works out-of-the-box and does not require the Total Test Repository server and z/OS Agent configuration.

Functional Test is a component of Total Test and requires several products to be installed and configured:

  • BMC AMI Enterprise Common Components ( ECC) Release 17.02 with USS and Functional Test PTFs applied (included in the latest maintenance)
  • MongoDB
  • BMC AMI DevX Total Test  (Web Client) Release 20.05
  • BMC AMI Common Enterprise Services ( CES ) server and Total Test Repository Server
  • BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse Total Test (Eclipse Client) Release 20.05
