Functional Test Quick Installation Summary

This topic summarizes how to install BMC AMI DevX Total Test components including the Functional Test feature.

Tip

You must configure the Total Test Repository server and z/OS Agent before you can use the following Functional Test features related to testing in a real CICS environment and test subprograms with a linking section in batch:

  • Palette elements Functional Test
  • Verify Data sets
  • Read Records 
  • Write Records

All other functional batch testing in the BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse works out-of-the-box and does not require the Total Test Repository server and z/OS Agent configuration.

Functional Test is a component of Total Test and requires several products to be installed and configured:

  • BMC AMI Enterprise Common Components (ECC) Release 17.02 with USS and Functional Test PTFs applied (included in the latest maintenance)
  • MongoDB
  • BMC AMI DevX Total Test (Web Client) Release 20.05
    BMC AMI Common Enterprise Services (CES) server and Total Test Repository Server
  • BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse Total Test (Eclipse Client) Release 20.05
