Playing Back Scripts (VTAM)

Playing back a recorded script is as simple as typing PLAY on the Command line, validating the data set name, and pressing Enter.

Warning

Important

Before you begin, review the following considerations:

  • Start playback at the same place as the recording. For example, in CICS, if recording started on a clear screen, start playback on a clear screen.
  • The ISPF End key is disabled during Domain Traveler sessions.
  • Do not change input data during playback or unusual conditions or abends may occur.

To continue with the example session, we will play back the recording named REC1.

Tip

You can also play back using batch processing or the Quick Play option. See Unattended-Playback-Dubbing-and-Comparison-for-3270-and-LU0-Scripts-VTAM or Quick Play—Select a Script and Go for more information.
