Extract—With user profile FRSAMPQK

Option 2, Extract, enables you to selectively extract data from a group of related objects (MVS files, Db2 tables or views).

In this section, you will learn how to perform a quick extract request based on the USER profile FRSAMPQK you created in Copy-profile.

Your extract options will be taken from the current profile, FRSAMPQK. You will only select the object to drive the extract, specify selection criteria for the driving object, and submit the extract JCL for processing. To illustrate the Extract function, you will:

  • Select ORDER_TABLE as the driving object
  • Specify selection criteria for the driving object
  • Direct the output of the extract to the file FRSAMP.QUICKEXT
  • Submit the JCL
  • Switch to the MVS driving object FRSAMP.ORDERTAB
  • Specify selection criteria for the driving object
  • View the selection criteria
  • View and submit the JCL
