Step 4—Specifying delete request file


File-AID/RDX displays the following figure when you specify Y in the  Save a Request field of the the Delete Processing Options screen and enter the NEXT command.

In this field…

Do the following:

File name

Type FRSAMP.EXTCRIT.

Member

Type DELREQ.

Description

Prefilled with the object type and name of the driving object of the extract file.

Command

Type the END primary command.

Press Enter.

File-AID/RDX returns to the Delete Processing Options screen.

Field Names and Descriptions

The following list describes all of the fields on this screen.

FIELD

DESCRIPTION

File Name

Specify the name of the file where you want to save the delete request. You can save the request to existing files. Existing files must conform to the format for the request file.

Important

Pre-Release 4.3 extract/load request files have fixed or fixed-blocked (RECFM=F or RECFM=FB) record format. When saving a Pre-Release 4.3 request file, File-AID/RDX will issue an invalid format message. Specify a new name to save the request file in variable-blocked (RECFM=VB) format.

If you specify a new file, you must specify the following allocation parameters in the “Create New File” screen.

Member

If the file is partitioned, specify the name of the member to contain the delete request.

Description

Enter a short description of the delete request. This description is displayed in the Delete Reference List. Using this description is a helpful way to document your delete request.
