Delete processing

Option 4, Delete, enables you to delete the data you have previously extracted from the source objects. The related objects can be KSDS type VSAM files and/or Db2 tables or views. File-AID/RDX determines which rows should be deleted based on the contents of a File-AID/RDX extract DASD or tape file that you specify.

In this section you will learn how to delete data from a group of related objects. To illustrate the Delete function, you will:

  • Specify the extract file name upon which you want to base the delete;
  • Confirm which objects will have rows or records deleted;
  • Specify processing options.
  • Review File-AID/RDX-generated JCL and submit the job.
