File mapping specifications


The following panel is displayed after you entered the S line command for an MVS object in the previous screen, Source to Target Mapping.

Use this screen to specify the target record layout information so you can manually map the source fields to the target fields. Press ENTER after you have specified the target file record layout information.

Source Files Used Area

The upper portion contains the record layout information for the source file as found in the extract file. The fields are for display only and cannot be changed.

Source Files Used

Displays the MVS file name of the source object.

Record layout file

Displays the record layout file that was used to extract data from the source MVS file.

Member name

Displays the member of the record layout file that was used to extract data from the source MVS file.

Record layout usage

Indicates whether a single record layout (usage "S"), or an XREF (usage "X") was used when the data was extracted.

XREF file name

Only displayed if layout usage is X. Identifies the XREF file name that was used to extract data from the source MVS file.

Member name

Displays the member of the XREF file that was used to extract data from the source MVS file.

I/O Exit Name

Displays the I/O Exit Name that was used to extract data from the source MVS file.

Target File Area

The lower portion allows you to specify the record layout information for the target file that you want to use to map the source and target fields. The fields are prefilled with the record layout information included in the extract file for the source file.

The specified target record layout information must already exist for File-AID/RDX to continue with field mapping. If the target record layout information does not exist, File-AID/RDX will not allow manual field mapping.

Target File

Displays the MVS file name of the target object as specified on the previous screen, Source to Target Mapping.

Record layout file

Specify the record layout file to be used by File-AID/RDX to map the fields of the source MVS file to the target file.

Member name

Specify the member name of the record layout file to be used by File-AID/RDX to map the fields of the source MVS file to the target file.

Record layout usage

Specify whether a single record layout (usage "S"), or an XREF (usage "X") is to be used when mapping the source fields to the target fields.

XREF file name

Must be specified if layout usage is X. Specify the XREF file name to be used to map source fields to target fields.

Member name

Specify the member of the XREF file to be used to map source fields to target fields.

I/O Exit Name

Specify the I/O Exit Name that is to be used to map the source fields to the target fields.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
