Guidelines

  • The DISPLAY MAXREFER command must be issued on the first set of criteria. Delete all other sets/subsets before issuing the command.
  • The DISPLAY MAXREFER command must be issued on the object of the REFER.
  • Once the number of occurrences has been set you cannot execute the command again with a lesser number of occurrences, but you can increase the number of occurrences.
  • The DISPLAY MAXREFER command is not available in XREF creation.
  • Once the specified occurrences of the REFER are displayed, Selection Criteria may be entered on any of the occurrences. When this Selection Criteria is saved and redisplayed, only the number of occurrences required to display the actual criteria is displayed.
  • The DISPLAY MAXREFER command cannot be used if criteria is already assigned to a variable location field.
  • The ARRAY ALL command must be issued first. The DISPLAY MAXREFER command cannot be used with ARRAY ANY or ARRAY EVERY (see also ARRAY-AR).
  • Omitting the DISPLAY MAXREFER command causes PL/I Refers to default to 1 occurrence when ARRAY ALL is used (see also ARRAY-AR).
