Segment/Layout XREF - Dataset Specification panel

The Segment/Layout XREF - Dataset Specification screen is displayed when you select Option 7 on the Primary Option Menu.

Important

You must define only one DBD member per XREF member that matches the XREF member name with the DBD member name. If the XREF member does not match this convention, update the XREF member by using the provided XREF conversion tool. For XREF conversion, the sample JCL member XIXXRFCV is provided in the sample library. Update the DD cards to use your own data sets (IXPFD is the input XREF data set, while IXPFDOUT is the output XREF data set).

Submit the JCL member to update all the input XREF members to follow the convention, which is saved in the output data set. Members without the same name as the DBD are renamed to match the DBD. Members that contain multiple DBDs are split into multiple output XREF members for each DBD used. Members containing multiple DBDs are split into multiple output XREF members, one for each DBD used.

If your IMS environment definition includes support for IMS Managed ACB, the Segment/Layout XREF - Dataset Specification displays as shown in the following figure. Note that the DBD LIB dataset fields are not included.

Current Environment

The top of the screen displays the environment definition name with its description that is in effect for the current session.

For a COPE managed database, the name of the COPE logical system (LSYS) that is in effect for the current session is also displayed (Segment/Layout XREF - Dataset Specification Screen (COPE Managed Database).

Enter dataset name of segment/layout XREF to be edited:

Enter the data set name of the segment/layout XREF to be edited. The data set must conform to the characteristics of a valid segment/layout XREF data set as described in Segment Layout Data set Concatenation.

Member

Enter the data set member, if any, of the segment/layout XREF to be edited. If the segment/layout XREF dataset is partitioned and no member is specified, the XREF Member List screen is displayed. Select a member for processing from the Member List screen.

DBDLIB Information

Important

The following DBDLIB fields are not available for environments with support for IMS Managed ACB or COPE Managed Databases.

DBDLIB dataset 1 and dataset 2

Enter the DBD LIB data set names that contain the DBDs you want to add to the XREF. You can enter two DBDLIB data sets to serve as the concatenated source. If you enter two DBD load library names and their block sizes are different, you must enter the library with the larger block size on the first data set name line. When two DBD libraries are entered, File-AID for IMS/ISPF searches the first library before the second when looking for the DBD member. If you specify only one DBD library, it can be entered on either DBDLIB data set line.

If your installation has both the COBOL and PL/I language support options installed, you should ensure that your current language mode is compatible with the segment/layout XREF dataset and member you specify. You can change language modes by entering the COBOL or PL/I primary command on this screen or by entering the =0 jump command, which switches you to Option 0 - File-AID for IMS Parameters.

Terminating the screen

Do one of the following to terminate the Segment/Layout XREF Specification screen:

Press Enter to proceed to the next screen.
If you left the XREF Member field blank or pattern, the Segment List screen displays (EDIT XREF Segment List screen).

Enter the END or RETURN primary command to terminate the XREF function and return to the Primary Option Menu.
