IMS DLI datasets

The following figure is displayed when you select Option 4, IMS Data sets, from the Parameters Selection Menu. Use this screen to view/modify the current IMS data sets information.

Important

Fields blanked out on the screen default to their associated values in the IMS environment definition. All changes to the fields remain in effect and are saved from session to session. If the environment does not allow DL/I or BMP processing, that portion of the panel is blank.

If you allocate the DFSRESLB, DFSVSAMP, or RECON DDs before invoking File-AID for IMS/ISPF, it does not attempt to allocate or de-allocate them. File-AID for IMS/ISPF also does not validate the data sets that you allocated to DDs.

Use the RESTORE command to remove override values and use environment defaults.

Important

Some fields are cleared (blank) while others actually display the default settings for the current environment.

DFSVSAMP Dataset

Specify the partitioned dataset name assigned to the DFSVSAMP ddname. The DFSVSAMP ddname identifies IMS buffer subpools for VSAM, ISAM, and OSAM data sets. for more information, see IMS Installation Guide and the IMS Programming Reference.

Member

Specify the member name in the DFSVSAMP data set that contains the IMS buffer subpool information.

IMS RESLIB Dataset 1, Dataset 2, and Dataset 3

Specify the DL/I IMS RESLIB data set name(s). If your databases use HDAM randomizers, the randomizer routines must be in either IMS RESLIB Dataset 1, Dataset 2, or Dataset 3. If the routines are not in one of these data sets, IMS returns an AI status code. To use existing dynamic allocation definitions for your databases in File-AID for IMS/ISPF, the data set name containing members created from the dynamic allocation macro, DFSMDA, must be in either IMS RESLIB Dataset 1, Dataset 2, or Dataset 3.

Important

Any RESLIBs entered here are replacements. They are not concatenated with the environment RESLIB data sets.

RECON Dataset 1, Dataset 2, and Dataset 3

Specify the data set names to be used by IMS when Data Base Recovery Control (DBRC) is active. The RECON data sets should not be specified when dynamic allocation is being used. Specifying a data set name for RECON Dataset 1 prevents DBRC from using dynamic allocation for all RECON data sets. These fields are optional.
