Dataset concatenations

The following figure is displayed when you select Option 6, System Datasets, from the Parameters Selection Menu. The DSN command also displays this screen. This screen is display-only; you cannot edit the fields.

The list of data sets displayed is for the environment currently in effect and includes data sets from both the environment and the user’s profile. The current environment in effect is displayed at the top of the screen.

You can filter this screen by DD type by entering the DD type in the Filter display by DD type field. Enter the S (Select) line command next to the DD type field to display any error messages or to recall a migrated data set.

Filter display by DD Type (* for all)

Specify a DD type to limit the table display to that DD type only, or specify an asterisk (*) to display all DD types.

DD TYPE

The following DD types are allowed in File-AID for IMS/ISPF. This field is display only. You cannot add new DD types. The data sets stored in your IMS Environment Definitions always have a minimum of one entry per DD type. If all of the data sets are deleted for a particular DD type, one default entry is built for that DD type with the data set name blank. Following is a list of DD types:

    • IMSACB - ACB library
    • IMSDBD1 - DBD library for Edit, Browse, Init, Load & XREF
    • IMSDBD2 - DBD library for Extract, FLEX, Selection Criteria & Application Relationships
    • IMSESL - DB2 library
    • IMSPSB1- PSB library for Edit, Browse, Init, Load & XREF
    • IMSPSB2 - PSB library for Extract, FLEX, Selection Criteria & Application Relationships
    • IMSRES - RESLIB library
    • IMSTASK - TASKLIB library
    • IMSPROC - PROCLIB library
    • COBXREF - COBOL cross-reference
    • PLIXREF - PL/I cross-reference
    • COB - COBOL layouts
    • FIFLEX - FLEX command statements
    • PLI- PL/I layouts
    • FIAPPL - Application relationships
    • FISEL - Selection criteria

Dataset Name

Data set name for this DD.

Source

Indicates where the data set came from: environment (ENV) or user profile (USER). A value of MVS indicates the value is pre-allocated.

Message

Displays a message ID when an error is detected with the data set. If the data set is migrated, then the message field displays MIGRATED. When the message field is not blank, enter the S (Select) line command to view the message text of the error message. For migrated data sets, the S line command displays the MIGRATED DATASET panel and enables you to recall the data set. If the message field is blank, then the S line command is ignored.
