Data disguise menu
Selecting Option 8, Data Privacy, from the File-AID for IMS Primary Option Menu displays the Data Disguise Menu as shown in the following figure.
Privacy
Select Option P, Privacy when you want to disguise an existing Extract File with Dynamic Privacy Rules (DPR) that were created with the Data Studio’s Data Privacy component of the Data Studio.
Data Disguise with DCF Options
Use Options 1 through 6 when you intend to use the mainframe only disguise criteria options.
Start with defining the disguise criteria for the objects containing sensitive data that you intend to extract.
You can also disguise existing extracts which were created with this or earlier releases of File-AID for IMS using the disguise information stored in the Disguise Control File (DCF).
Audit Trail Options
Select Option A, Print Audit when you want to print the audit trail information created when you disguised an Extract File with either Dynamic Privacy Rules (DPR) or mainframe Disguise Control File (DCF).

P - Privacy
Select this option to disguise an existing extract file by applying the Dynamic Privacy Rules (disguise criteria rules) as defined in a DPR: Dynamic Privacy Rules Project that was created with the Data Studio’s Data Privacy component of the Data Studio.
This option requires installation of BMC AMI DevX File-AID/Data Solutions and the Data Studio’s Data Privacy component of the Data Studio.
Before submitting a disguise request with the DPR data privacy option, make sure that you have access to the DPR repository where the disguise criteria (Dynamic Privacy Rules) were defined using Data Studio’s Data Privacy.
File-AID for IMS displays the Disguise Extract File panel DCF Disguise Existing Extract File.
Data Disguise with DCF Menu Options
The Data Disguise Menu contains one input field:
Disguise Control File
Specify the name of your Disguise Control File (DCF). File-AID for IMS uses the information from the Control File to apply disguise criteria when disguising an extract.
If the file does not exist, use Option 4, Control from the Data Disguise Menu to allocate a new file.
Enter the option number (1-6) to select the desired mainframe disguise option.
1 - Criteria
Select this option when you want to define or modify disguise criteria for objects to be extracted and disguised. Creating a list of objects is always the first step in creating or modifying disguise criteria. Use of the object list as the starting point for criteria creation is based on thinking that criteria will be created for a specific set of objects and the list of these objects is the point of control for guiding the process.
2 - Disguise
Select this option to disguise an existing extract file by applying the disguise criteria rules as defined in the DCF: Disguise Control File. File-AID for IMS displays the Disguise Extract File panel DCF Disguise Existing Extract File.
This option also allows you to disguise extract files that were created with the current or earlier release of File-AID for IMS. The extract file must not be compressed, but can be a retained extract file.
Before submitting a disguise request with the DCF data disguise option, you must have defined the disguise criteria using Option 8, Data Disguise (see Option 1 - Create and Modify Disguise Criteria).
It is possible to use a Disguise Control File with different Relationship Files as long as the set of related objects being disguised has not changed. If there have been changes to the set of related objects, the disguise rules will not be applied to any added relationships. No error checking for such changes will be done at disguise execution time.
3 - Parms
Select this option to specify File-AID/Data Solutions parameters that File-AID for IMS uses to connect to File-AID/Data Solutions including:
- The Disguise Criteria File where File-AID/Data Solutions will store the actual disguise criteria (necessary).
- The Business Rules dataset File-AID/Data Solutions uses when operating on date fields; it can also be used by field exits (optional, only necessary when applying business rules).
4 - Control
Displays the Allocate Disguise Control File screen where you can allocate a new Disguise Control File (DCF). The File-AID for IMS Disguise Control File is required for the data disguise function. It is the repository that links disguise criteria with objects.
5 - Criteria
Displays the Allocate Disguise Criteria File screen where you can allocate a new Disguise Criteria File. This file is the repository for detailed disguise criteria.
6 - Print Control
Displays the Print Disguise Control File screen which you can use to print the contents of the disguise control file.
Audit Trail Options
A - Print Audit
Displays the Print Disguise Audit Trail menu which you can use to print the disguise audit trail information.
