O (Overlay)

The O row command specifies a destination when data is copied or moved. Unlike other targets for moving or copying, the O row command overwrites existing destination data. Use the O row command to overlay data from one row over another.

The source row to be overlaid onto a destination row is specified with one of the following row commands:

  • C (copy)
  • M (move).

The O (overlay) row command overlays data from one source row to another, following these rules:

  • Only blank characters on the destination row are overlaid.
  • Source rows are used repeatedly until all destination rows are processed.
  • Information rows, such as BNDS, MASK, and COLS, are ignored for processing.
  • If an M (move) is specified for the source rows, the source rows are deleted after the move is complete only if all source rows are processed and all data from the source rows can be moved to the destination.
  • Current BNDS settings are observed during overlay.

OO Block Format

Specifies the block of destination rows to be overlaid.
