File-AID/RDX
The verification steps for File-AID/RDX use Db2 sample tables which are built with Task 11.2 Create Db2 Training Files (XVJTRNDB).
Task 13.16 Verify Primary Options
- Invoke File-AID/RDX through the method chosen during customization of your environment.
- From the File-AID/RDX Primary Option Menu, verify that you can invoke each of the primary options by entering the appropriate number or letter and pressing Enter.
- As you confirm that you can invoke an option, invoke the next one by either returning to the Primary Option Menu using the END command or pressing PF3 and then selecting the next option or by going directly to the option using a jump command (for example, =6 to go to option 6, Utilities).
Task 13.17 Verify XFRCOPY CLIST
The XFRCOPY CLIST must be available to you in order to continue the verification process (see Installing-Training-Files).
- Type TSO %XFRCOPY on the COMMAND line to execute the XFRCOPY CLIST.
File-AID displays progress messages as the sample files are created. - Answer the question OK TO DELETE? with Y (Yes) to delete old training files and create new copies.
Task 13.18 Verify Option G
- Invoke option G, Global Defaults.
File-AID/RDX displays the Select Profile screen shown in Select Profile whenever you leave the Profile field blank or enter a pattern. Use this screen to select your current profile. - Only if SITE is not displayed, type SITE and press Enter to see the list of SITE profiles.
Type the S line command in front of profile RDXQUICK.

File-AID/RDX makes the SITE profile RDXQUICK the current profile and displays the Global User Defaults screen (see the following figure) as selected on the Primary Options Menu (Option G).

NOTE: If the Job Statement Information is not specified via the RDX Profile,
then the Job Statement Information specified here will be used. If no

Information will be used.- In the Job Statement Information fields, type valid job statements for your installation to be used when the current profile does not include them. If your current profile includes job statements, the profile’s job statements will be used.
- Type END and press Enter.
Task 13.19 Verify Option 2
Invoke option 2, Extract.
File-AID/RDX displays the Extract - DB2 Driving Object screen shown in the following figure.

- Fill in the screen information as shown for the following fields:
- SSID: Specify your subsystem ID that you built the sample tables using XVJTRNDB (see Installing-Training-Files).
- Creator: Specify creator name for ORDER_TABLE you built using XVJTRNDB.
- Table Name: Specify ORDER_TABLE.
- File Name: Direct the output of the extract to the file FRSAMP.QUICKEXT
- Press Enter.
The Create New File panel is displayed when FRSAMP.QUICKEXT does not exist.- Verify Generic Unit.
- Type END and press Enter.
The Extract - DB2 Driving Object screen displays with the short message ‘JCL ready to SUBMIT’.
- Type G in the OPTION field.
- Press Enter to submit the job.
File-AID/RDX returns to the File-AID/RDX Primary Option Menu.
File-AID/RDX will also issue a message upon completion of the job. - Press PF3 (END) to exit File-AID/RDX.
- Use a JES viewer to review the job output.
