Important

The variables to change for each job or CLIST are grouped together in the members. Find these members in the sample library (hlq.SXVJSAMP).

  1. Create MVS Master Training Files using sample JCL provided in XVJTRNM. Follow the instructions inside the member to adjust to your site requirements and submit the job.
  2. Create Db2 Sample Objects using the Sample Db2 Data Create dialog:
    1. Execute REXX member XVJTRNDB in hlq.SXVJSAMP to display the Sample Db2 Data Create screen.
    2. Update the fields to your site’s requirements. Press PF1 (HELP) for descriptions of the field entries.
    3. Generate and submit JCL to build Db2 sample objects for File-AID for Db2 and File-AID/RDX.
  3. Customize each sample CLIST to point to the high level qualifier for the master training files. Follow the comments in each CLIST for manual tailoring.
    • UDACOPY (File-AID/Data Solutions)
    • XFACOPY (File-AID/MVS)
    • XFDCOPY (File-AID for Db2)
    • XIXCOPY (File-AID for IMS)
    • XFRCOPY (File-AID/RDX)
  4. Copy the customized CLISTs to the File-AID hlq.CXVJCLIB library to make them available for execution within the corresponding product.

    For more information, see Installing-Training-Files.

Task 7.2 Start File-AID

After you have completed the configuration of each of your installed File-AID products, execute XVJRUN from either your CLIST library (hlq.SXVJCLIB) or your customized CLIST library (hlq.CXVJCLIB) from any command line (or via ISPF Option 6, Command - Enter TSO or Workstation commands).

If you did NOT copy and modify XVJRUN into hlq.CXVJCLIB, use this command:

   TSO EX 'hlq.SXVJCLIB(XVJRUN)'

If you copied and modified XVJRUN into hlq.CXVJCLIB (as described in Task 1.1 Update CLIST Members for hlq.CXVJCLIB in Overview-of-File-AID-product-configuration CLIST Members for hlq.CXVJCLIB), use this command:

   TSO EX 'hlq.CXVJCLIB(XVJRUN)'
