This topic describes how to install the BMC AMI DevX File-AID products using SMP/E and z/OSMF Software Management.

SMP/E installation

File-AID products are installed using SMP/E. This milestone will guide you through the SMP/E installation of File-AID.

Important

The File-AID Installer is required for this milestone.

FMIDs

The FMIDs for each product are listed below.

  • MXVJ230 - File-AID Common Components 23.01.00 modules
  • NXVJ230 - File-AID Common Components 23.01.00 Japanese language modules
  • MXFD230 - BMC AMI DevX File-AID for Db2 23.01.00 modules
  • MUDA230 - BMC AMI DevX File-AID/Data Solutions 23.01.00 modules
  • MXFA230 - BMC AMI DevX File-AID/MVS 23.01.00 modules

Warning

All FMIDs of your selected File-AID product(s) plus the FMID for File-AID Common Components need to be received, applied, and accepted.

In addition, if you do install Japanese language modules, the FMID (NXVJ230) for Japanese language modules also needs to be received, applied, and accepted.

Section Adding-a-new-File-AID-product-FMID-to-an-existing-File-AID-installation describes the procedure how to add individual File-AID products (FMIDs) to your existing File-AID Release 23.01 installation.

Tasks

Perform the following task for the SMP/E installation.

  1. Follow the instructions in BMC Installer Mainframe Products SMP/E Installation to install File-AID products.
  2. When the SMP/E installation of your File-AID products has completed, follow the tasks in this guide to configure and deploy the File-AID products.

Installing the product via z/OSMF Software Management

You can now install and configure the File-AID products via the z/OSMF Software Management consumable portable software instance (PSI) format if you are using z/OS 2.5 or later.
