Steps involved
The steps involved to use the product are:
- Order the Data Studio feature pack, including the latest maintenance, through BMC's Product Ordering web page or by contacting your BMC representative.
- Make sure that your environment satisfies the system requirements and prerequisites specified in Verifying-prerequisites.
Install File-AID Services on either Windows or Linux by following the appropriate instructions in Installing-File-AID-services. You will need to access the FAS installation from either the Data Studio media or from the download provided with an RFN order. The versions of FAS, FARE, Data Privacy plug-in, and Workbench for Eclipse client must match exactly.
- Installing-Data-Studio-Client includes instructions for installing the client components for Enterprise Data, including Workbench for Eclipse with the Enterprise Data option, enabling data access support, installing File-AID/EX and various configuration setups.
- Installing-a-stand-alone-File-AID-EX-execution-server includes the installation of the File-AID/EX execution servers and the File-AID Rules Engine.
- Installing-Data-Studio-companion-components-on-the-mainframe includes the installation of File-AID and File-AID Executive.
- In Data Studio’s Data Privacy, users must be assigned Data Privacy roles. Configuring-Data-Privacy-Security discusses how these roles are used and how they are configured.
