Troubleshooting

This topic explains how to identify the version of the Installed File-AID Rules Engine.

This provision is available only for FARE version 5.0 and later.

For Windows

  1. From the install location of the File-AID Rules Engine, provide the java path for the version.bat file of the desired Execution Server using one of the two available options:
  • EES (Embedded Execution Server)

Option 1:

      1. Navigate to the EES FARE default installation location: C:\Users\<Windows Login ID>\BMC\Workbench\Enterprise Data\FARE.
      2. Open version.bat in a text editor and append the line: JAVA_HOME=C:\Users<Windows Login ID>\BMC\Workbench\eclipse\jre.
      3. Click Save.

Option 2:

Set the JAVA_HOME path in Windows SYSTEM environment variable using the value: C:\Users<Windows Login ID>\BMC\Workbench\eclipse\jre

  • SES (Standalone Execution Server)

Option 1:

      1. Navigate to the SES FARE default installation location: C:\Program Files\BMC\File-AID_EX\Dme\DP.
      2. Open version.bat in a text editor and append the line: JAVA_HOME= C:\Program Files\BMC\File-AID_EX\jre.
      3. Click Save.

 Option 2:

Set the JAVA_HOME path in Windows SYSTEM environment variable using the value: C:\Program Files\BMC\File-AID_EX\jre

       2. Run version.bat. A one-line output, such as, BMC AMI DevX File-AID Rules Engine : 5.0.0, appears indicating the FARE version that is installed.

For Unix Environments

  1. From the install location of the File-AID Rules Engine, modify version.sh to add the java path. The default install location is ../usr/faex/dme/dp.
  2. Run version.sh. A one-line output, such as, BMC AMI DevX File-AID Rules Engine : 5.0.0, appears indicating the FARE version that is installed.
