Viewing ComparePro Results

ComparePro provides results information on multiple levels:

  • Overall pass or fail information
  • The types and statistics for the differences found
  • The actual data for each difference found

Overall Pass or Fail Information

ComparePro uses icon_green_check.gif or icon_red_bell.gif to indicate overall pass or fail.

  • icon_green_check.gif next to the pairing or specification indicates the comparison finished with no differences.
  • icon_red_bell.gif next to the pairing or specification indicates the comparison finished with differences.

This information is displayed in the Execution Status Viewer for each pairing, next to the results name in the Results Tree View, and in all Open Results or Reports windows.

Types and Statistics for Differences

If differences are found in the comparison, the ComparePro Results window displays the statistics for each type of difference.

When comparing one baseline item against one test item, the results are displayed on one screen. When comparing more than one item, the results are displayed as high level statistics for the overall comparison, and detailed statistics for each pairing.

  • The Volatility of Data displays the percentage, number, and type of all differences found within this comparison.
  • The pie charts display the percentages and counts for each type of difference found.
  • The Results Pairing Summary displays the number of each type of difference found for each pairing within the specification. When comparing one item to one item, this information is identical to the Volatility of Data, which is displayed at the top of this window.
  • The Detailed Statistics tab lists each pairing included in this comparison. The left side of this table displays icon_red_bell.gif or icon_green_check.gif to indicate if differences were found within the pairing. The information displayed in the tabs is specific to the pairing selected in this table.
  • The tabs along the bottom of the Results View display results information specific to each pairing.
    • Pairing Info - Displays a summary of the connection information for the specification.
    • Compare Statistics - Displays the pie charts and volatility of data specific to the pairing selected.
    • Field or Structure Statistics - Displays the differences found within each field or structure for the selected pairing.

View Actual Data Differences

  • The Results Data Difference Viewer, which is accessible by clicking Detailed Results, displays the differences found within the data. The layout of the information in this window varies depending on the type of comparison.
  • The Results Character Difference Viewer displays individual character differences between baseline and test data fields.
