Starting a New Comparison

The basic steps in running a ComparePro specification are always the same. The Connection Wizard prompts users for information based on the type of comparison being performed and the data being used.

To compare data using ComparePro

  1. From the File menu, select New, then select the type of comparison.
  2. Locate and connect to the baseline data.
  3. Select the baseline data to include in the comparison.
  4. Locate and connect to the test data.
  5. Select the test data to include in the comparison. After the test data connection information is validated, the Pairings tab appears. This tab displays all of the tables, views, files, and fields included in this comparison.
  6. Do either of the following:
    • To execute the comparison now, click Run.
    • Review and edit the Advanced Options including selection criteria, sort order, field pairings, and processing options.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
