Manually Mapping Data Fields

ComparePro automatically maps baseline data to test data, using the Automap feature. By default, fields are mapped in the order they appear in the file or table. The Field Pairing window allows you manually match baseline data with test data.

To manually match data fields

  1. Select the Pairings tab in the ComparePro window.
  2. On the Field Pairing tab, click icon_EditConnInfo.gif. The Field Pairing dialog box appears.
  3. On the Baseline Fields tab, select the fields to include in the comparison. To select the same fields in the test data, click icon_ApplyToTest.gif. This option selects fields in the test data with the same name.
  4. Select the Test Fields tab, and select the fields to include in this comparison. To select the same fields in the baseline data, click icon_ApplyToBaseline.gif. This option selects fields in the baseline data with the same name.
