Data Privacy Manager

The Data Privacy Manager protects your data by concealing sensitive information while maintaining data integrity, table relationships, and data format during processing.

Example

A female employee name field can be replaced by a recognizable fictitious female name or a nonsensical set of characters.

The Data Privacy Manager:

  • Builds rules used to disguise data for a defined collection of fields.
  • Provides a graphical means for applying data encryption to fields for the File-AID/EX supported data connections.
  • Allows you to replace field values with consistent valid data via key encryption (using an encoding key value) or via substitution with meaningful readable data.
  • Provides a date aging disguise type that allows you to add or subtract from the date or replace the date with a specific date.

You can access the Data Privacy Manager from within the Related Extract, Related Loader, and ConverterPro components. The originating application passes fields and/or extract data files to the Data Privacy Manager, which performs encryption/decryption. When finished, the Data Privacy Manager exits and the encryption/decryption rules are returned to the calling File-AID/EX component. The calling File-AID/EX component inserts the encryption/decryption rules into its specification.

Important

The Data Privacy Manager is not a standalone application.

The Data Privacy Manager lets you save fields, extract templates, and data privacy project templates. A project template is composed of both field or extract data privacy information. Data Privacy templates contain all of the information required to exist within a repository so they can be used again in other data privacy requests.
