Working with visualizations

The Visualization feature in Code Pipeline web is an advanced capability providing a visual representation of the deployment request, its component packages, and items.

This feature appears in the Visualization pane in the Deployments page, the Deployment packages page, and the Deployment items page.

In these pages, when you click Visualization Visualization.pngin a relevant row, the Visualization pane expands to represent the relationship between a deployment request, its component packages, and items. The current visualization persists in the pane until you choose to view the visualization for another record on the page.

You can resize the view by using the zoom slider or click Fit to screen to fit the complete visualization in the available viewing area. You can also click and move the visualization within the pane.

To collapse the Visualization pane, click Visualization_CollapsePane.pngin the pane header.

Interpreting the visualization

The visual representation includes nodes that represent the set, requests, packages, and items. The Set node appears at the top of the visualization. Linked to this are one or more system-specific groupings, each containing requests, package, and item nodes. The system grouping is labeled with the system name.

Each node includes information about the relevant request, package, or item it represents.

The nodes might display the following icons corresponding to the request, package, or item:

  • Visualization_Completed.pngindicates a completed request, package, or item.
  • Visualization_Failed.pngindicates a failed Request, Package, or Item.
  • Visualization_ViewMessages.pngindicates available messages for a Request.

When you click a node, the UI synchronizes the selection, and dynamically displays the corresponding tables in the following pages:

  • Click a Request node to view the Requests page with the corresponding request entry selected in the table.
  • Click a Package node to view the Packages page with the corresponding package entry selected in the table.
  • Click an Item node to view the Items page with the list of items in the parent package.
