Common UI actions

When you navigate to any UI in Code Pipeline Web, the UI displays options that you can use to perform actions.

Some UI options might differ based on the feature that you are using.

Options that you select and values that you specify might be retained in some circumstances and discarded in others. For more information, see State management in Code Pipeline Web.

The following table describes the common UI options that you can see and use across the Code Pipeline Web UIs. Options unique to a feature are described within the feature-specific topics.

State management in the Code Pipeline Web UI

When you reorder columns, resize the columns, sort values within a table, choose columns to view or hide, specify filter criteria, choose the number of records that you want to view in a table, or choose to view a page (pagination), the selections persist on the UI.

However, some of your selections (filter criteria, records per page, and pagination) do not persist, as described in the following scenarios:

  • The specified filter criteria, records per page, and pagination do not persist:
    • If you logon with a host connection and the session expires, and you log on again but with another host connection.
    • If you logon with a host connection and then switch to another host connection.

      Example

You log on to Code Pipeline Web by using the host connection CW01, specify filter criteria and records per page on the UI, and then switch the host connection to CW09.
The filter criteria and records per page are not retained.

  • The specified filter criteria do not persist when you navigate from the parent element to the child element, specify filter criteria at level of the child element, and then return to the parent element.

    Example
    • You sort the values in the Approvals page (parent element). Then, you navigate to the Tasks page (child element) and specify filter criteria on the Tasks page. Then, you go back to the Approvals page.
The filter criteria on the Tasks page is not retained. However, the sorting applied on the Approvals page persists.
    • Similarly, you specify the filter criteria on the Deployments packages page (parent element). You then navigate to Package items (child element) and specify the filter criteria on the Package items page. Then, you go back to the Deployment packages page.
The filter criteria on the Package items page is not retained. However, the filter criteria on the Deployment packages page persists.
