Examples for resolving Cobol Application issues without Abend-AID Source support

Resolving a S0C7 with Extended Language Support

If an appropriate listing file for the abending program is not available to the Abend-AID viewer, it is still possible to find the field causing the abend, provided a suitable compile listing is available. Abend-AID Basic support will locate the TGT and other areas, The listing is used to find the filing instruction and the data-name of the bad data.

Important

We recommend that instead of following these instructions, you obtain a listing for the program and process it into a DDIO member and then use Abend-AID source support to find the failing instruction and the bad fields.  You can either use the Shared Services Cobol Language processor program CWPCDRVR in a batch job or use the CONVERT feature from within the Viewing Server on the No Source Available screen to do this.
