Accessing the user controls menu
The Abend-AID Viewer site customization options are available as a selection on the User Controls menu. Display the User Controls menu, shown in the following figure, using one of the following methods:
- If you do not currently have a dump selected, type USER in the COMMAND field of the Fault Summary or Abend-AID Directory display, and then press Enter.
- If you currently have a dump selected, use one of two methods:
- Tab to User Control Facility on any Abend-AID Viewer Primary Options menu, and then press Enter, or
- Type USER or =U in the COMMAND (or OPTION) field on any screen and press Enter.

Accessing the Customization Options Menu
Display the Customization Options menu, shown in the following figure, using one of two methods:
- Tab to Site Customization Options on the User Controls menu, and then press Enter.
- Type CUSTOM or USER.5 in the COMMAND (or OPTION) field on any screen and press Enter. You can also type =U.5 if you currently have a dump selected.

From this menu, you can access the customization screens from the following menus:
- Site Default Options Menu
Use this menu to access the customization screens for setting your site defaults for screen print output, user profile, and screen attributes, as described in Accessing the Customization Options Menu. - Dump Capture and Processing Menu
- Use this menu to access the customization screens for setting your site defaults for Summary screen configuration, region dump capture profiles, and dump notification information, as described in Accessing the Dump Capture Options.
- Notify Users and Execute Scripts
Use this menu to create contact information definitions for batch dumps, as described in Action Definitions.
- Create/Maintain Site News
Use this screen to enter site-defined news, as described in Creating/Maintaining Site News below. - Create/Maintain User-Defined Diagnostics
Use this screen to enter user-defined diagnostics for common or frequently occurring site abends/faults, as described in Creating/Maintaining User-Defined Diagnostics. - Maintain Workbench Host/Port Table
- Use this screen to maintain the BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse host/port table, as described in Maintaining the BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse Host/Port Table.
Creating/Maintaining Site News
Use the Site News Menu, shown in the following figure, to access screens that enable you to add site-specific information to the panels that display the Abend-AID and Abend-AID for CICS for CICS product news in the Abend-AID Viewer via the NEWS fast-path command.

Select either option 1 or 2 from the Site News Menu, to display the Add/Maintain Site News input screen for Abend-AID or Abend-AID for CICS, respectively, as shown in the following figure. The text is displayed as entered without any formatting. The site-specific news resides on the customization file so all viewing servers using the same customization file have access to the same text.

Add a batch or CICS news record.

To delete previously created site news, select option 3 or 4 from the Site News Menu to display the Confirm Delete for News window for Abend-AID or Abend-AID for CICS, respectively. Press Enter to complete the deletion. Press the END key (PF3) to cancel the delete request.
Creating/Maintaining User-Defined Diagnostics
The User-Defined Diagnostics screen, shown in the following figure, enables authorized users to create or maintain user-defined diagnostic entries. Users are granted security authorization to this screen with access to the Customizations Options menu (See Customization Options Menu) through the CUSTOM subparameter of the EXTERNAL_SECURITY_FUNCTION_CHECK= viewing server configuration parameter. The user-defined diagnostics text resides on the customization file so all viewing servers using the same customization file have access to the same text.

Authorized users can use the following line commands to display the User-Defined Diagnostics input screen, as shown in the following figure:
- I (Insert): Use this line command to display the User Defined Diagnostics screen with all input fields blank.
- R (Replicate): Use this line command to display the selected entry on the User Defined Diagnostics screen with all input fields blank except the User defined Diagnostic Text field.
- D (Delete): Use this line command to delete the selected entry.
- U (Update): Use this line command to display the selected entry on the User Defined Diagnostics screen with all input fields prefilled. Overtype the fields you want to change.
- S (Display): Use this line command to display the selected entry on the User Defined Diagnostics screen with all input fields prefilled. This line command is for display purposes only and does not let you save any changes.

Press the END (PF3) key to exit the screen and save your changes. Enter the CANCEL primary command to exit the screen without saving.
Maintaining the Workbench for Eclipse Host/Port Table
The Workbench Host/Port Table screen, shown in the following figure, enables authorized users to maintain host name/port number information for establishing a connection to the Topaz Workbench (formerly, BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse). Users are granted security authorization to this screen with access to the Customizations Options menu (See Customization Options Menu) through the CUSTOM subparameter of the EXTERNAL_SECURITY_FUNCTION_CHECK= viewing server configuration parameter.

This table is used when viewing an Abend-AID report in the BMC AMI DevX Workbench for Eclipse and a request needs to be made to the Workbench, for example, for File-AID support. The SMF SYSID for the report being viewed is used to look up in this table the appropriate host name and port number to establish a connection to the Workbench.
Authorized users can use the following line commands that are valid for this screen:
- A (Add entry): Use this line command to display the Add Host/Port Information screen (shown in the following figure), which lets you add a table entry. After you input the information, use the END (PF3) key to save your inputs and return to the Workbench Host/Port Table screen (See Workbench Host/Port Table Screen), or enter the CANCEL primary command to exit the screen without saving your inputs.
- S (Update entry): Use this line command to display the selected entry on the Update Host/Port Information screen, which lets you update any of the prefilled input fields. After you make your changes, use the END (PF3) key to save your changes and return to the Workbench Host/Port Table screen (See Workbench Host/Port Table Screen), or enter the CANCEL primary command to exit the screen without saving your changes.
- D (Delete entry): Use this line command to delete the selected table entry.
