Getting Started

Abend-AIDWeb helps improve application availability in today’s complex, integrated, and dynamic computing environment. It helps reduce downtime caused by application faults by detecting them on mainframe systems and immediately notifying individuals or work groups.

Abend-AIDWeb provides easy implementation and immediate return on investment (ROI) by also providing the tools to pinpoint and resolve problems. From a Web browser window, managers and staff can see all application errors, and identify and resolve the fault efficiently and effectively.

During development, your staff can learn about errors and quickly resolve them before they reach production. In production, Abend-AID Web helps your staff address problems as they occur. Providing real-time and historical information, Abend-AID Web provides the tools to continually monitor, measure, control, and improve application quality to achieve promised service levels.

Abend-AIDincludes automatic webhook notification capabilities. When a problem occurs in a specific application, Abend-AID can send an alert by a webhook to notify individuals or work groups, or to create a trouble ticket. You can also use REST APIs to supplement your alerts and build your own reporting. For more information about webhooks, see Managing webhooks in the CES documentation space.

When you click the Abend-AID card under BMC AMI Products for Web on the CES home page, the Abend-AID Viewer links UI appears. For more information, see Configuring-Abend-AID-Web-interface-links.

Important

The UI varies depending on the user roles assigned to you by the system administrator at your site. System Administrators must create user names and assign user roles before they can perform certain restricted functions. For more information, see Defining security settings in the CES documentation space.
