Creating New Rules


Fault Analytics uses two types of Rules — Event rules and Duplicate Event rules. Event Rules evaluate fault events through a set of user-created conditions. When those conditions are satisfied (i.e. true), an action or set of actions also defined by the user gets executed. Duplicate Event Rules are about suppressing events

Create a new rule

  1. From the Fault Viewer, select Administration. The Administration panel appears.
  2. Select Rules. The Edit Rules panel appears.
  3. Click New Event Rule or New Duplicate Rule. The rule editor dialog box appears for the type of rule you selected. For rule-specific information, refer to the subsequent sections.


 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
