Performing Instant Snapshots

Before you can use the snapshot-enabled utilities to create an Instant Snapshot, you must set up the hardware environment and XBM.

Important

In addition to performing these required tasks for Instant Snapshots, BMC recommends that you configure  for hardware and software snapshots. Doing so allows the snapshot utility to request a traditional snapshot if conditions are not met for an Instant Snapshot. Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
