Identifying input log data sets


The Recovery utility may require one or more log data sets as input.

The particular logs that you need to use depend on many variables, such as the type of recovery (recovery to current, point-in-time recovery, disaster recovery at a remote site, and so on) and the type of logs that were created during the IMS log archive process. DBRC keeps track of the log data sets that have been created during IMS activities. The Recovery utility automatically selects the correct logs to use if you use dynamic allocation.
