XLOG keyword

Use the XLOG keyword to create a log extract data set.

Important

In a previous implementation, the EXTLOG keyword could be specified on GLBL, GROUP, AREC, or REC control statement to obtain an extract log data set, which was of limited use in most cases. This previous implementation is still supported but is incompatible with the current implementation of the XLOG keyword, which is specified on the SORT control statement to create a log extract data set. If you use the XLOG keyword on a SORT statement, remove any existing EXTLOG keywords from GLBL, GROUP, AREC, and REC control statements in the same job step.
