PIT keyword


The PIT keyword instructs the Recovery utility to perform a point-in-time recovery to the time specified by the TIMESTMP keyword.

The recovery time may or may not correspond to a time when the database is deallocated.

Warning

BMC recommends that you create two output image copies when you perform a point-in-time recovery. See Considerations-for-special-timestamp-recoveries before using this keyword.

Optional on the GLBL control statement.

Values

Specify one of the following values:

  • Y—Request a point-in-time recovery to the time specified by the TIMESTMP keyword. If you select this value, you must also specify TIMESTMP(value), DBRC(Y), and DSALLOC(Y).
  • N—Do not perform a point-in-time recovery.
