DSALLOC keyword


Use the DSALLOC keyword to indicate whether the input image copy, change accumulation, and log data sets should be dynamically allocated.

If you specify DSALLOC(Y), you must also specify DBRC(Y). Dynamic allocation is attempted only if the files are not included in the JCL input. If you specify DUMP(*), ACCUM(*), or LOG(*), the Recovery utility forces DSALLOC(Y) for that particular file.

Uses

Global options module. Optional on the GLBL control statement.

Specify one of the following values:

  • Y—Dynamically allocate input image copy, change accumulation, and log data sets.
  • N—Use JCL to allocate input image copy, change accumulation, and log data sets.
