Space announcement We are no longer updating this space, and you cannot comment on this space. The RECOVERY MANAGER for IMS component is now documented in BMC AMI Backup and Recovery for IMS.

Starting RMGR

Before you can use RMGR to perform recovery management tasks, it must be started in the operating system.

In a production environment, RMGR is usually set up to start automatically (through a started task or batch job) and remains running at all times. In a test environment, you may need to issue the command or submit the JCL to start RMGR.

You can recycle RMGR without recycling IMS, and you can recycle IMS without recycling RMGR. Whenever you change the IMS release (upgrade to a new release or fall back to a previous release), you should recycle RMGR. In the same way, whenever you change the RMGR release, you should recycle IMS.
