Select the last log sync recovery point

You can use the Log Sync function to establish a consistent recovery point for DR by synchronizing log switches for multiple IMS systems.

To record this recovery point, the function writes a record to the repository.

The Log Sync timestamp is used for a point-in-time recovery in which in-flight updates are not applied. Synchronizing the log switches helps to minimize the loss of data across sharing IMS systems. BMC recommends that you back up the RECONs and repository after each successful Log Sync function.

  • Batch Interface utility: Specify RECOVERTO=LOGSYNC.
  • Recovery Options panel: Select option 8 (Last LogSync).
  • Find Recovery Points function: Select a Log Sync recovery window.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
