Select the DR PIT timestamp

The DR PIT timestamp is created by the RECON Cleanup utility.

This timestamp represents the latest safe recovery point and is the earliest close time of all open PRILOG records that the utility has closed. To use the timestamp automatically, you must use the IRM keyword when you run the RECON Cleanup utility Update function. This action allows the utility to save the DR PIT timestamp in the RMGR repository.

It is important to run the RECON Cleanup utility Update function at the DR site so that the DR PIT timestamp is inserted into the correct RMGR repository. You must also run the Create Recovery JCL function at the DR site.

  • Batch Interface utility: Specify RECOVERTO=DRPIT.
  • Recovery Options panel: Select option 7 (To a BMC DR PIT).
  • Find Recovery Points function: Select the DR PIT recovery window.
