Create multiple copies of recovery assets

No matter which type of recovery point you decide to use for DR, you must create multiple copies of some or all of your recovery assets and ship them offsite.

  • If you select the last batch image copy as the recovery type, you need copies of the batch image copies.
  • If you select the last point-in-time (PIT) change accumulation (CA) as the recovery type, you need copies of the image copies and the PIT CA data sets.
  • For all other recovery types, you need copies of all image copies, change accumulation data sets, and logs.

By using the Recovery Extensions feature, you can create as many as 10 copies of each image copy and change accumulation data set that will be tracked and used by BMC AMI Backup and Recovery for IMS. For more information, see Control-the-input-for-the-Create-Recovery-JCL-function.

If you are planning to run Log Analysis at the DR site, ensure that secondary copies of the SLDS are shipped offsite.
