TLMS considerations for restarting batch jobs

For sites which use Computer Associates’ TLMS product, special care must be taken such that output tape datasets can be re-opened for output at restart time. TLMS has a parameter called DoubleOpenTime, which contains the default amount of time you can reopen a tape dataset in INOUT mode (which QUICKSTART does) after an ABEND. Since a restart might occur after this time has expired, TLMS provides a JCL technique to override this value. On the DD for the tape dataset, specify SPACE=(1,(1,3)). Failure to do this may result in a S713 ABEND.
