The SUPRA Interface

Follow the instructions in this topic to allow the QUICKSTART for MVS product to execute in a SUPRA environment.

  1. Set up the Checkpoint Control Table
QUICKSTART uses a DBMS Table to determine whether or not a Job is restarting, and if so, from which Checkpoint to restart. The DBMS Table allows synchronization between the application program’s Working Storage (saved in the Checkpoint Dataset(s)) and the DBMS updates.

For guidance on preparing this Table, refer to member SUPRADDL in QSTART.SAMPLIB.

  2. COBOL Customization and Verification
If COBOL will not be used with SUPRA, this step can be skipped.

Member SUPRACOB in QSTART.SAMPLIB contains procedures to incorporate the QUICKSTART in a batch COBOL application running against a SUPRA Central PDM. Please follow the instructions inside the member in order to make a COBOL application restartable.
